SFMOMA Announces Family Day A Celebration Of Family, Fun And Art For The Whole Family

What SFMOMA hosts its semi-annual Family Day, a special museum-wide celebration featuring hands-on art projects, music and performances for the whole family. Children are free, with $2 admission for accompanying adults.

SoVoSó—an a capella ensemble that includes former members of Bobby McFerrin's group, Voicestra—will perform songs that present a global perspective, from Afro-Latin idioms to traditional jazz choral arrangements.

To complement the Marc Chagall exhibition on view in the fifth-floor galleries, a klezmer music trio will perform in the Phyllis Wattis Theater.

Admission Special admission to Family Day is $2 for adults (includes regular Museum admission; adults must be accompanied by a child) and free for children and high-school students with ID. Founded in 1935 as the first West Coast museum devoted to modern and contemporary art, SFMOMA is currently undergoing a major expansion project to open in 2016 that will significantly enhance gallery, education, and public spaces, enabling the museum to better showcase more of its expanded permanent collection.
