SFMOMA Announces Free Admission On September 11 Museum Returns To Regular Hours After Labor Day

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), normally closed on Wednesdays, will open its doors to the community at no charge on Wednesday, September 11, making art freely available to anyone who wishes to seek solace, find hope and inspiration, or simply desires a quiet place in which to contemplate the many emotions and events of the past year.

Please note: Regular operating hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3, with the galleries opening at 11 a.m. daily (except Wednesdays, when the Museum is closed). See complete details below:

Museum Galleries
Open daily (except Wednesdays): 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Open late Thursdays: 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Closed Wednesdays (except September 11)

MuseumStore
Open daily: 10:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
Open late Thursdays: until 9:30 p.m.

Caffè Museo
Open daily (except Wednesdays): 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Open late Thursdays: until 9 p.m.
Closed Wednesdays

SFMOMA galleries, the MuseumStore and Caffè Museo are closed on the following public holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day

Admission prices: Adults $10; seniors $7; students $6. SFMOMA members and children twelve and under are admitted free. The first Tuesday of each month admission is free. Thursday evenings, 6 to 9 p.m., admission is half price.

SFMOMA is easily accessible by MUNI, BART, Golden Gate Transit, SamTrans and Caltrain. Hourly, daily and monthly parking is available at the SFMOMA Garage at 147 Minna Street. For parking information, call 415/348-0971.
