50th San Francisco International Film Festival

Acclaimed for its excellence in world cinema, the San Francisco International Film Festival is the first such event in the Americas to reach the 50-year milestone. This year SFMOMA will be part of the celebration, presenting a selection of contemporary international and American films from the more than 200 on offer. The program will cross a range of styles and genres, with filmmakers in attendance.

Arrows of Time

Documentary footage of Jacques Derrida and John Berger collides with interviews of physicists at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and a fictional crime story in this live cinema performance by Ken McMullen.
Edie Ichioka, 2006, 78 min.
There are film editors, and then there's Walter Murch. Widely considered the world's greatest cutter for his contributions to Apocalypse Now, The English Patient, and many other masterworks, he's a generous and erudite man, eager to share his passion for film in this revealing documentary.
