Artist Talk: Felix Schramm
Date + Time
Friday, June 29, 2007
noon - 1:00 p.m.
Location
Koret Visitor Education Center
Overview
To mark the opening of Schramm's New Work exhibition, the artist joins DiQuinzio to discuss both his current project and his practice. Known for powerful architectural sculptures and installations that integrate the spaces they inhabit, Schramm frequently tests the laws of physics: "For me, one of the biggest challenges in sculpture is to make the piece feel heavy and yet, at the same time, as delicate as something 20 times lighter - so that from some angles it seems light and simple, and from others it rips through the viewer."
