2008 SECA Art Award Date + Time Tuesday, April 07, 2009 noon Location Phyllis Wattis Theater Overview The SECA Art Award distinguishes outstanding Bay Area artists whose work has not yet received substantial recognition. This year, SFMOMA considered more than 200 artists, who were nominated by Bay Area art professionals. After visiting the studios of 31 finalists, Tauba Auerbach, Desirée Holman, Jordan Kantor, and Trevor Paglen were selected by DiQuinzio and Gass. Today the curators discuss the artists and the exhibition. Participants Apsara DiQuinzio, assistant curator, painting and sculpture, SFMOMA Alison Gass, assistant curator, painting and sculpture, SFMOMA Admission + Ticketing Museum and program admission are free.
