Overview

SFMOMA's art interest group SECA (Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art) presents a panel discussion on the state of the art fair. SFMOMA curator Janet Bishop leads a conversation about the recent flourishing and current contraction of contemporary art fairs worldwide. The panel will also address the relationship between an art dealer's in-gallery program and participation in the fairs, as well as the potential benefits of attending and acquiring art at fairs in a slower market.
