Alain Resnais, 1958, 19 min., 35mm, color, cinemascopeIn this program of film shorts, experimental filmmaker (and SFMOMA's own head projectionist) Clipson screens high-art takes on low subjects. Luis Buñuel cast a surreal eye on rural poverty in Spain, Alain Resnais documents the lyricism of plastic, and Georges Franju upends nationalism and military glory.
