Allison Smith: SMITHS: Fancy Work and Arts & Skills Service
Fifth-floor galleries
noon - 5:45 p.m.
SMITHS continues with Arts & Skills Service, an investigation of SFMOMA's World War II collaboration with the Red Cross to create a series of arts workshops for wounded veterans. Combining her research on wartime textile, ceramic, and metalwork traditions, Smith presents skill-sharing events that reflect on the contemporary "war effort." Today: quilts and quilters. Smith's project continues at the museum in February.
