Overview

Gabriel
Agnes Martin, 1976, 72 min., DVD

In this rarely screened film directed by Martin, the artist delves into a theme that has long predominated in her paintings: nature. With no dialogue, the camera follows a young boy quietly exploring the landscapes of Colorado, California, and New Mexico while relating himself to his environment and to the abstract. Martin reportedly intended her film to be about happiness, innocence, and beauty.
