Suspiria, Dario Argento, 1977, 92 min., 35mmStart the Halloween weekend early with this bewitching double feature of rarely screened 1970s horror classics. In Season of the Witch Romero brings us the engrossing tale of a suburban housewife who seeks escape from her banal life through a foray into the world of witchcraft. Argento's stunningly cinematic Suspiria, one of the last films shot in Technicolor, follows an American ballet student studying abroad who uncovers her academy's dark secret. There will be a 10 minute intermission between screenings.
$3 general; free for SFMOMA members or with museum admission (requires a free ticket, which can be picked up in the Haas Atrium).
