San Francisco has been a world-class center for photography since the 1850s, mere years after the medium's invention. The city has retained this stature over time, driven by innovative artists, public interest, local patrons, important art schools, and outstanding museums and galleries. How can San Francisco continue to grow as a center for photography? How will the city stay relevant in the global forum of photographic art? Panelists will explore what is currently happening and what needs to be done to ensure that San Francisco stays at the forefront of photography.
