One of the most highly regarded photographers of her generation, Dijkstra is best known for psychologically probing portraits of people in states of transition, including her Beach Portraits, a series in which adolescents are posed alone against a background of sea and sky. For this special event, she has assembled a short program featuring some of her favorite film and video works, including Blind Kind, Johan van der Keuken's poetic 1964 documentary of blind children that offers insight into their perception of the world around them (in Dutch with English subtitles).
