sfSound Presents: Music of ChAnGEs, Variations VIII
Phyllis Wattis Theater
7:00 p.m.
As part of their yearlong celebration of Cage's 100th birthday, contemporary music crusaders sfSound present a diverse program of some of Cage's most intriguing works. It centers around The City Wears a Slouch Hat (1942), a "radio drama" with a text by Kenneth Patchen that has had only a handful of live performances. The concert also includes the iconic Sonatas and Interludes, Cage's magnum opus for prepared piano; the multimedia Theatre Piece; and the classic graphic score Fontana Mix with Aria. More information: sfsound.org.
Part of John Cage Centenary Events.
$10 general; $7 SFMOMA members, students, and seniors.
