Romare Bearden: Media and Message

Bearden's collages from the 1960s engage the artistic strategies of the time as well as the era's social concerns, including the rise of media culture and the civil rights and anticolonialist movements in the United States and Africa. In this lunchtime lecture, Dawsey discusses Bearden's complex artistic approach.
