Overview

The term installation art refers to an eclectic range of artworks that viewers can literally enter and experience. Incorporating diverse materials and media, installations extend beyond the static visual image to explore issues of time and memory, private and public space, race and identity, to name a few. In this presentation, Shirkey discusses installations currently on view by Robert Gober, Rebecca Horn, and Kara Walker.
