Gary Hill's Mediated Media
Natasha Boas, PhD, independent curator and professor of curatorial practice, California College of the Arts
Phyllis Wattis Theater
noon - 1:00 p.m.
In the 1970s Gary Hill began incorporating sound and eventually video elements into his sculptural works. The immediacy of sound and video recording appealed to him immensely, as did the feedback and looping capabilities these media offer. Boas discusses how Hill's media-based works explore time and perception through a mediated lens.
Museum and program admission are free.
