A Man of Few Words: The 30-Year Journey of Robert Adams
Colin Westerbeck, independent curator

Phyllis Wattis Theater
6:00 p.m.

In addition to exhibiting photographs, presenting pictures in book format has been a significant theme in Adams's career. Westerbeck traces 30 years of the artist's work through three key publications: William Jenkins's catalogue for the anthology exhibition New Topographics: Photographs of a Man-Altered Landscape (1975), the catalogue for Adams's retrospective To Make It Home: Photographs of the American West (1989), and the current exhibition monograph Turning Back: A Photographic Journal of Re-exploration (2005).
