Picturing Disaster: The 1906 Earthquake
Corey Keller, assistant curator, photography, SFMOMA

Phyllis Wattis Theater
11:00 a.m. - noon

In the aftermath of the 1906 earthquake and fire, many photographers - both amateur and professional - took to the streets and documented the unimaginable damage. Keller presents an overview of the resulting images and considers the social and aesthetic choices photographers made in representing disaster. The program concludes with a selection of early films of San Francisco made shortly after the earthquake.

Museum and program admission are free.
