This five-part course explores the influence of Surrealism on modern and contemporary art, beginning in the early 20th century and continuing through today. The exhibitions The Surreal Calder and Beyond Real serve as focal points, and the course includes tours led by SFMOMA curators Janet Bishop and Corey Keller.
