July 10, 2008 - January 04, 2009

This unorthodox exhibition showcases 246-plus objects acquired by SFMOMA's Architecture and Design Department since curator Henry Urbach joined the staff in September 2006. Architectural drawings and models, industrial-design objects, books, posters, photographs, and furniture will be displayed on low platforms and organized by acquisition date. This is a rare opportunity to see each and every piece the museum has collected in a given department over a two-year period. The exhibition also illuminates the accessions process, revealing how decisions are made about developing the collection.

This exhibition is organized by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Support for this exhibition is provided by Drue and Arthur Gensler.
