John Bielenberg/Bielenberg Design, "Ceci n'est pas un catalogue", 1996
With the invention of a fictitious company, Virtual Telemetrix, Inc. (VT), in 1991, John Bielenberg began a series of witty design projects to create a satirical corporate entity. An annual report, a product catalogue, a Web site, and, most recently, a case study for a Las Vegas casino address issues related to the practice of graphic design and the role of the designer as image-maker in contemporary culture. The Virtual Telemetrix installation will be the latest episode in this ongoing corporate saga.
