November 16, 2002 - March 23, 2003

Five international building projects that integrate architecture, landscape, and infrastructure to engage the waterfront are brought together in Architecture + Water. The designers — Foreign Office Architects, MVRDV, Diller + Scofidio, Steven Holl Architects with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, and Alsop Architects — employ innovative practice to re-envision the connections between aquatic and built environments. Organized by the Van Alen Institute, the exhibition includes models, drawings, and video animations of the projects.

Architecture + Water is a Van Alen Institute Project in Public Architecture. Major support was provided by Van Alen Institute, New York State Council on the Arts, The Stephen A. and Diana L. Goldberg Foundation, and Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning.

The San Francisco presentation is generously supported by an anonymous donor.
