While Rauschenberg was in San Francisco installing his 1983 exhibition Rauschenberg: Photographs at Douglas Elliott Gallery, local photographer Paul Raedeke interviewed him for the now-defunct publication Photo Metro. In a rare interview about his photography practice, Rauschenberg discusses his series In + Out City Limits (1982–82), his choice of subjects and equipment, and the public's perception of his work. SFMOMA purchased 3-83-B-25-A from the Douglas Elliott Gallery exhibition.
