Robert Rauschenberg, Communication (Tribute 21), Sat Jan 01 00:00:00 PST 1994; offset lithograph, 27 in. x 41 in. (68.58 cm x 104.14 cm); Gift of Felissimo; © Robert Rauschenberg Foundation / Licensed by VAGA, New York, NY; published by Felissimo

Communication (Tribute 21) honors Ted Turner (b. 1938), an American media mogul best known as the founder of the cable news network CNN. The brochure pairs Rauschenberg’s print with a quote by Turner that reads: “My main concern is to be a benefit to the world, to build up a global communications system that helps humanity come together, to control population, to stop the arms race, to preserve our environment . . .”
