Bill Viola Exhibition Feature

Explore the work of California-based media artist Bill Viola in this special exhibition feature documenting 15 room-sized video installations created between 1972 and 1996, 22 single-channel videotape works that were shown on a rotating schedule of screenings during the run of the exhibition, and a selection of pages from Viola's notebooks that document and contextualize his creative process. The feature includes photographs of the artist at work and interviews in which he discusses various projects, as well as representations of the two site-specific installations he created in San Francisco (at Grace Cathedral and One Market Plaza) to complement the SFMOMA presentation.

This interactive multimedia feature was developed in conjunction with the exhibition Bill Viola.
