Focus on Post-Revolutionary Mexico

Making Sense of Modern Art offers an extensive and engaging guide to modern and contemporary works in SFMOMA's permanent collection. This section of the program introduces six artists whose work engaged cultural traditions and promoted social change following the Mexican Revolution of 1910-20. These figures were among a larger group of artists who reevaluated their assumptions about their audiences, methods, and the content of their work in the wake of the conflict.
