SFMOMA Artcast April 2008

In this episode photographer An-My Lê explains the ideas behind her photographic projects Small Wars and 29 Palms, which confront America's complex relationship with war, and sculptor Janine Antoni discusses her use of non-traditional materials such as chocolate and soap. Visitors respond to works on view in the museum, and New York-based performance artist Daniel Isengart  performs a translated piece from 1930s-era Weimar Germany, recorded at the Weimar New York cabaret gala held at SFMOMA, and reflects on the artistic and cultural revival of cabaret.

Each SFMOMA Artcast brings you illuminating audio and video interviews with artists, curators, and visitors as they respond to the work on view at SFMOMA.
