Since 1934 the Modern Art Council, SFMOMA's premier fund-raising auxiliary, has raised critical funds to support SFMOMA's mission as a leading institution of modern and contemporary art. Having hosted hundreds of events and activities and raised millions of dollars for the museum, the women's auxiliaries have supported exhibitions, purchases of art, and even a curatorial post. At black-tie balls and honorary luncheons, educational programs and art auctions, the Women's Board, Membership Activities Board, and MAC have helped build the museum community. SFMOMA is proud to honor over 75 years of outstanding work by this very special group of women.
