Since 1934, the Modern Art Council (MAC), SFMOMA's premier fund-raising auxiliary, has raised critical funds to support the museum's mission as a leading institution of modern and contemporary art and its expanded vision of being a hub of education for students of all ages.

Throughout its history, MAC has supported exhibitions, purchases of art, and even a curatorial post. Today, MAC, in partnership with SFMOMA, hosts popular events at the intersection of fund-raising, education, and celebration. MAC events include the biennial Art Auction, the annual Bay Area Treasure Award, and the popular Art Sandwiched In series.

Modern Art Council members continue to innovate and provide wonderful educational opportunities, and have been valued partners of the museum for more than three-quarters of a century. SFMOMA is proud to honor the service of these dedicated and valued volunteers.

Membership in MAC is by invitation only. For more information, email mac@sfmoma.org.
