Share your interest in modern art: Become an SFMOMA docent.

The SFMOMA docent training program features in-depth courses in modern and contemporary art as well as touring methods and techniques. Participants explore a variety of ways to lead visitors — the general public, teens, and school groups — through SFMOMA's exhibitions of architecture and design, media arts, painting and sculpture, and photography.

Requirements for participating in the SFMOMA docent training program are:

• An interest in modern and contemporary art and enthusiasm for engaging with the public
• SFMOMA membership
• A one-time class fee (some partial scholarships are available)
• Attendance at all training classes
