The Rooftop Garden provides a series of new spaces specifically for sculpture: the Sculpture Garden and Garden Terrace — both for outdoor works — and the Pavilion, a glass-walled enclosure that features indoor works. The current installation highlights major modern and contemporary sculptures from the museum's collection. While the individual pieces on display may change from time to time, the Rooftop Garden is dedicated to presenting a range of sculptures made over the past five decades using a diversity of materials and techniques. The selection includes abstract and figurative styles and represents artists working nationally and internationally, as well as in the Bay Area.
