Special Exhibition Tickets

Overview

A special timed ticket, for $5 in addition to general admission, is required for general (nonmember) entry to Richard Avedon: Photographs 1946–2004 (on view July 11 through November 29, 2009).

SFMOMA members and children 12 and under (with an adult) are admitted free of charge. Please visit the Member Tickets page for information on how to reserve complimentary advance timed tickets for the exhibition.

Tickets are available online through MuseumTix.com. Advance and day-of tickets are also available at the museum with no processing fee, subject to availability.

Timed tickets allow entry during half-hour intervals throughout the day, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays; from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays; and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The museum is closed on Wednesdays. The last admission is sold approximately one hour prior to the museum's closing. Please note: only entry to Richard Avedon: Photographs 1946–2004 is timed. You are welcome to visit any other exhibition in the museum at any time on your date of entry.

These special timed tickets are available in advance either online or in person at the museum, or in person on the day of your visit. Due to the large crowds expected for this exhibition and limited ticket availability, it is highly recommended that advance tickets be purchased. Purchasing advance timed tickets online ensures the shortest lines on the day of your museum visit.

Return Policy

Before purchasing tickets, carefully review your selection. There are no exchanges or refunds after a ticket has been purchased or for lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed tickets.
