Making Sense of Modern Art

Making Sense of Modern Art: Frank Stella

Welcome to this special interactive program, developed in conjunction with the exhibition ’What You See is What You See’: Frank Stella and the Anderson Collection at SFMOMA, on view from Friday, June 11, 2004 through Monday, September 6, 2004. This multimedia program explores Frank Stella’s life and work by looking at eight key artworks from various stages of his career, which were collected by Bay Area art patrons Harry W. and Mary Margaret Anderson. It also includes footage of the artist discussing four of the paintings and commentaries by the Andersons on appreciating and collecting art.

This feature works best with high-bandwidth Web access. You can also view it at the Museum on our interactive kiosks, located in the galleries and the Koret Visitor Education Center.
