Photographer Asako Narahashi discusses the evolution of her career from the 1990s to now, including the co-founding of the photography magazine Main (1996–2000). She reflects on her series half awake and half asleep in the water (2001–8), in which she created physical and emotional distance from the land by photographing it from the sea.
