This oil painting, which measures sixteen inches tall and twenty inches wide, features four individual servings of different creamy desserts. From our left to right, the desserts are: a chocolate mousse with whipped cream served in a straight-sided wine flute and topped with a cherry; a mint pudding layered with pink mousse served in a curvy class with a tall stem; a footed highball glass filled with orange and cream zebra stripes, topped with a single cherry; and a short glass bowl of peach slices surrounding a scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with a lush red strawberry. The off-white background, and all of the desserts have been rendered with thick paint and swooping brushstrokes reminiscent of frosted buttercream icing. Each glass casts a short, blue colored shadow to the right of us—suggesting a light source suspended closely above and slightly to the left. Underlining the four desserts, at the bottom edge of the canvas, is a band of pastel blue delineating the front edge of the tabletop.
