Stockholder transforms ordinary consumer goods, furniture, and textiles into complex formal compositions saturated with bold, vibrant color. Extending from the wall to the floor, this stage-like installation alters how the tactile surfaces of its commercially produced elements are read: yellow coveralls become an extended backdrop adjacent to a cloth and a shower curtain, while the carpet is used as a support for paint. The title Just Sew alludes both to having things arranged in a particular manner and to the stitched-together quality of the assemblage aesthetic.
