In this oil painting, three delicate cakes on round serving platters sit atop perfectly balanced sticks. The three thin sticks stand in an orderly row with the tallest one in the middle. On our left is a pale yellow plate displaying a flat layer cake that resembles an oversized, cream-filled cookie. On our right is a delicate mocha-colored cake with dark piping and a little red cherry on top, presented on a white plate. A large, unadorned white cake sits atop the largest platter in middle. The cakes are rendered with smooth, luxurious brushstrokes that mimic the buttercream frosting on an actual cake. Three shadows resembling big lollipops stretch from the bottom of the sticks across the flat white background toward our upper right.
