Vertical streaks of dark blue, violet, and black blanket this large canvas, which reaches almost ten feet tall and nine feet wide. The darkest patch of rugged streaks rises up on our right hand side, like a tree line, or a cliff face at night. To the left is a luminous, almost neon blue streak that extends beyond the top and bottom of the painting. Much of the canvas is textured with ribbons and dribbles of thick paint, but the luminous blue channel is much smoother, as if the texture had been washed away by this rivulet of lustrous color. In the center of this streak is a thin red line that hangs down the channel like a red rope dangling in a water well. At the edge of the canvas, on our left, is a narrow streak of bright, school bus yellow, which overwhelms the dark, nocturnal atmosphere, if only on a sliver of the painting.
