A Bit of the Music with The Avengers

Join us for an evening of music celebrating Bruce Conner, jug bands, and the San Francisco punk scene of the 1970s, featuring local bands The Avengers and The Poontang Wranglers. Conner’s photographs of the 70s punk scene in San Francisco, many of which were taken at the famed punk hub Mabuhay Gardens, are emblematic of the era. The Avengers were among the bands depicted in Conner’s iconic shots. Active in the music scene in more ways than just through the lens of his camera, Conner also jumped in the mix and played with jug band The Poontang Wranglers.
