Client 4.2: Peregrine Falcon

Sunday, July 13, 2008

11 a.m.

Presentation and model home building with Allen Fish, Golden Gate Raptor Observatory; animal music and sound workshop with Carson Bell, California Library of Natural Sounds.

The sound workshop will begin with basic ambient sounds from the habitats of several animals native to California. We will also listen to the sounds of animals interacting (sea-lion interactions will be like a symphony!) A boombox experiment will follow in which participants will use tape and CD boomboxes to create a synchronized and choreographed soundscape. Acting as a 360-degree PA system, the boomboxes will replicate movements of animals in the wild.

Due to SFMOMA Community Day, check-in is also available at the museum’s Minna Street entrance for this workshop. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
