Conserving Contemporary Art: The Artist's Involvement in the Process

Monday, April 12, 2004, 12:00 p.m.

The Schwab Room

Much of the work of conserving contemporary art relies upon tried-and-true protocols. In some cases, however, the art challenges the fundamental assumptions behind these practices. The role of the artist is a facet of contemporary art that conservators find themselves in a unique position to consider. This panel discussion explores the idea of living-artist participation in the work of both curators and conservators.
