This program of exciting new work by contemporary Japanese filmmakers offers engaging and complex considerations of the moving image. The meeting of traditional forms and experimental sensibilities — through the integration of animation, installation, and sound and the structures of composition, duration, and material — works toward visceral and contemplative experiences of the image in time. Participating artists include Takashi Ishida, Makino Takashi, and Yo Ota.
