Created in 1916 and later lost, Vita Futurista was the only official futurist film ever made. In 2009 Performa, along with SFMOMA and Portland Green Cultural Projects, commissioned 11 contemporary film and video artists to produce their own renderings of the original 11 parts. New Skin for the Old Ceremony compiles 11 short films, each set to a track from Leonard Cohen’s 1974 album of the same name.
