Although sculpture is his vocation, Mark di Suvero also has a long-standing interest in poetry. For his book Dreambook, he paired his sculptures with poems by Lao Tzu, W. B. Yeats, Walt Whitman, Marianne Moore, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, among others. On the occasion of Mark di Suvero at Crissy Field, contemporary poets come together to read new works in response to the artist’s sculptures and to launch a limited-edition chapbook featuring new poems by Dodie Bellamy, Bill Berkson, Victor di Suvero, Paul Ebenkamp, C. S. Giscombe, Kevin Killian, Kush, Joanne Kyger, Hugo Garcia Manriquez, Richard O. Moore, D. A. Powell, Frances Richard, Juliana Spahr, and C. D. Wright.
