Discover the affinity between the paintings of two masters separated in time by nearly half a century. Led by one of our Museum Guides, this interactive tour explores the inspiration that Bay Area artist Richard Diebenkorn found in the paintings of Henri Matisse. Throughout his career, Diebenkorn produced work in dialogue with Matisse’s oeuvre, responding to the French painter’s pioneering style, compositional brilliance, and rebellious attitude toward color.
