SFMOMA Presents SCULPTURE L.A.

On Thursdays from September 30 to October 21, 2010, Muistardeaux Collective creates SCULPTURE L.A., a multimedia lecture and performance series. SCULPTURE L.A. features performance-based introductions to and overviews of some of SFMOMA’s upcoming exhibitions. Actors deliver the lectures based solely on the titles of the exhibitions; no prior research or exposure to any of the museum’s advance materials will be allowed. The lectures highlight a borderline between fact and fiction, and ultimately, as an institutional critique, they call into question the notions of expertise and authorship. The actors have been trained by Muistardeaux Collective not to be experts but to believe they are experts.
