Support for the Derek Jarman film series is provided by the Susan Wildberg Morgenstein Fund.
Using all the elements of film that he was known for — non-linear narrative, arresting images, punk, homosexuality, and visual poetry — Jarman tackles the subject of the decline of 1980s England. The film shows a fragmented society, his post-apocalyptic critique of England at the time of constant IRA attacks and living under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
