1998 SECA Art Award

January 22-May 02, 1999

This exhibition features the work of the four recipients of the 1998 SECA Art Award: Chris Finley, Gay Outlaw, Laurie Reid, and Rigo 98. SECA, one of the Museum's seven auxiliaries, honors regional artists of exceptional promise with this biennial art award, which includes an exhibition at SFMOMA, an accompanying catalogue, and a cash prize. The purpose of the SECA Art Award is to recognize and encourage artists working independently at a high level of artistic maturity whose work has not received substantial recognition. A special public program will be held in conjunction with this exhibition.

The SECA Art Award is funded by the Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art, an auxiliary of SFMOMA. The cash prize is made possible by the Robert Huston Memorial Fund.
