Mirror Images

Women, Surrealism, and Self-Representation

The self-representational work of three generations of women artists associated with or influenced by the surrealist movement will be presented in this exhibition. Mirror Images includes approximately eighty-five paintings, drawings, photographs, and sculptures dating from 1928 to 1996 by twenty-two artists from North and Central America, Europe, and Japan. Louise Bourgeois, Claude Cahun, Eva Hesse, Frida Kahlo, Yayoi Kusama, Ana Mendieta, Meret Oppenheim, Cindy Sherman, and Kiki Smith are among the artists whose work will be on view.
