The Library is open to public researchers by appointment Monday–Friday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
Appointments are necessary to ensure the availability of materials and to manage your access to the Library upon arrival at the museum. Directions for checking-in at the SFMOMA staff entrance are provided when you book your appointment.
All library materials are non-circulating and public requests are paged from our stacks by library staff. Since a portion of our collection is stored offsite, certain materials may require a longer delivery time. All library materials are searchable by consulting our library catalog here. Submit your requests via this form or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Library staff are happy to help you navigate our holdings and research resources.
