The Birthday Party Rooftop Dinner and The Birthday Bash
The year 2010 marks the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)’s 75th anniversary as a pioneering force in art worldwide and an unparalleled destination for the people of the San Francisco Bay Area. Through special exhibitions, events, public programs, and an anniversary publication, the museum offers visitors new insight into the artists and individuals that have made SFMOMA a center of innovation and risk-taking in the art world and a cultural beacon on the West Coast.
On Friday, May 14, 2010, the museum will host The Birthday Party Rooftop Dinner and after party The Birthday Bash. Chaired by SFMOMA Trustee Norah Sharpe Stone, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime gala celebration in honor of 75 years of groundbreaking art. Artists, patrons, and art enthusiasts will come together to enjoy a special evening of creativity and music, while raising funds for SFMOMA’s education and exhibition programs. Designed by event impresario Stanlee Gatti, the evening will feature cocktails in the Rooftop Garden, a glittering dinner in the fifth-floor galleries, and an electric after-party with live music and late-night dancing. The Birthday Party Rooftop Dinner – 6 to 9 p.m.
The Birthday Party Rooftop Dinner brings together distinguished donors, collectors, and special-guest artists for a fabulous dinner party. The evening will begin with cocktails in the stunning SFMOMA Rooftop Garden and private viewings of select anniversary exhibitions followed by a sit-down dinner in the fifth-floor galleries. Empty of art, the entire top floor will be transformed into an exciting setting for fabulous food and music. Following dinner, guests will be invited to attend the Birthday Bash, a music-filled after-party on the ground floor of the museum. Individual tickets can be purchased for $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000 or tables can be purchased for $50,000, $25,000, and $10,000.

The Birthday Bash – 9 p.m. to midnight
Raise a glass and celebrate with SFMOMA members, local artists, and friends at The Birthday Bash. The ground floor of the museum will be dressed to the nines for the occasion. The SFMOMA Atrium will light up with a stellar lineup of bands, DJs, and live performers including The Brazilian Girls, Epee du Bois, and Xeno and Oaklander, as well as specialty cocktails and treats. Individual ticket prices: $150 general/$125 SFMOMA members.
Tickets are available starting March 1 for SFMOMA members and March 15 for non-members. Entry to the Birthday Bash is included for guests of the Birthday Party Rooftop Dinner.
